Woodworking & Hobbies Expo 2012

The Board of the Woodturners of the Hunter have made a decision not to
hold an Expo in 2012.

This has been a difficult decision to come to, as the Expo’s had become a
cherished annual event for Club members, exhibitors and the general
public. It was also a way that the Club was able to contribute to the John
Hunter Hospital and really make a difference in our local community.

The Woodturners of the Hunter have now had a change in direction and
after careful consideration and a trial period of almost 2 years, have
decided to continue participating in the Newcastle City Farmers Markets
as a way of keeping our Club profile in front of the Newcastle public and
of course to sell our fabulous products. This has proved a great success
during the trial period.

We have continued our association with the John Hunter Hospital to
assist in funding new equipment for the John Hunter Children’s Hospital
through Kaleidoscope, and will soon be announcing a new initiative in this area featuring some of the best woodwork seen in this region as prizes.

We look forward to seeing you at the Farmers Markets in the near future
We are still interested in running single day or weekend events that relate

specifically to woodworking in all its different facets.
