2013 Bowls for the Oldies Project

In 2013 the Bowls for the Oldies Project was undertaken to benefit:-

• • John Hunter Childrens Hospital

  • Hillside Assisted Living Apartments, Mt Hutton

Bowls were produced according to dimenions of a drawing provided, with the woodturners asked to be mindful of the finishes used, as the odours from some oils and waxes permeate into the sweets. The name of the woodturner and the timber species were often recorded on the bottom of the bowl.

This photo shows our past Chairman Chris Medlicott and Loretta Corcoran packing lollies into bowls turned by members that were distributed to various Aged Care Facilities.
